Passion Dr. Kevin Daimi has 30 years of international experience in IT. His IT expertise includes leadership, teaching, design, and research. It covers several areas including computer and network security, data mining, software engineering, and computer and software engineering education. These areas are critically important for the well-being of our societies and it is his desire to continue exploring these fields to serve national and international societies. How did I become me? As the Director of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Professor Daimi ensures their programs, research, and projects are meeting the demands in industry, government, health, and education both nationally and internationally. He has a mixture of academia and industry experience. His industry experience includes working as a Senior Programmer/Systems Analyst at the Central Bank of Iraq, a Computer Specialist at Wrigley’s Supermarket, California, USA, and a Computer Consultant with Computer Software Inc., Michigan, USA. His academic experience includes working as a Visiting Research Officer at the University of Exeter, England, an Assistant, Associate and Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Technology (UOT), Iraq, and Full Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM), USA. His Leadership experience includes working as Head of Computing Training, Central Bank of Iraq, Head of Computer Science at UOT, Iraq, Director of Computer Center at UOT, Iraq, Chair of Mathematics and Computer Science at UDM, USA, Director of Ford On-Site BSCS Program, USA, and Director of Computer Science and Software Engineering at UDM, USA. Professor Daimi’s involvement in professional organizations has been enhancing and guiding his IT expertise. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, and a Senior Member of both the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He has been chairing the annual International Conference on Security and Management since 2012. He is a member of the Editorial Board for a number of Journals, including the American Journal of Undergraduate Research, the International Journal of Bio-Science and Bio-Technology, and the Information Security Education Journal.
