More about this expert:

Passion I am passionate about identifying and removing political and behavioral barriers to the use of clean technology, especially in rapidly industrializing countries. How did I become me? In 2009, I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Ph.D. in Political Science. Since then I have taught Political Science at Columbia University in New York, with a particular focus on environmental and energy policy. Much of my current research focuses on India. The problems I solve My primary research interest is in developing methods that allow policymakers and companies to identify and remove political and behavioral barriers to the use of clean technology. I conduct studies on public opinion and expectations about different clean technologies, such as solar lighting, and evaluate the impact of different policies and programs that promote their use. These studies can help companies identify, expand, and create markets in contexts where political and behavioral factors impede clean technology adoption.
