Mari Jüssi is a sustainanle urban mobility expert at Estonian Road Administration and City of Tallinn. 1998-2017 she worked as a senior expert at the Stockholm Environment Institute Tallinn Centre, an international think tank. With an interdisciplinary background in environmental protection science (University of Helsinki), she has been working on sustainable transport policy and environmental impact issues since 1998. Jüssi has been advising both the national and local governments on sustainable transport policy, integrated urban transport policy as well as strategic environmental impact assessment of transport and energy policies. She is the main author of the Sustainable Transport Report for the Estonian government (2010). In recent years she has been also active in launching the Estonian cycling initiative Eesti Rattarikkaks! and moderating a national network of urban mobility professionals in Estonia as well as promoting the uptake of sustainable urban mobility planning. She was also the lead transport expert for the Estonian National Energy Policy 2030+ and the National Climate Policy Roadmap 2050.
