More about this expert:

I have lived in various parts of the world and studied in France and Ireland to obtain my Masters degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. I now live in the UK and work for Jaguar Land Rover in New Model Launch. In this role have been able to combine my technical knowledge and my strong inter-personal skills to develop a very good reputation in team work and problem solving. PASSION I am passionate about developing best practice across the business, standardising processes and using well proven problem solving tools to deliver cost savings/ expenditure avoidance for the business. Outside of work I play guitar and push myself in Ironman triathlon competitions. HOW DID I BECOME ME I grew up in Slovakia and thanks to my parents's guidance I worked hard to get a place in a prestiguious French University INSA de Lyon. From there I went on a double diploma programme in Trininty College in Dublin as one of the four successful candidates. My final year internship took me to New York in the USA to work in a Civil Engineering company on crane installations and demolition planning. From there I got a very good role in Cummins Emission Solutions in the UK as a build boss to deliver a launch of the EURO VI Emission systems. That is where I discovered my strengths in people skills, problem solving and team work. After the Euro VI launch things got a bit quiet so I was looking for a new challenge and got recruited by Jaguar Land Rover in Solihull, UK and started working on new product launches and that is where I work right now. I have gained significant experience in how a large company operates, what the pitfalls are and where the focus needs for sustainable growth. In addition I now have a "quality hat" most of the time to drive improvements in all areas I interact with. THE PROBLEMS I SOLVE Because the company I work for is quite "young", there are numerous process gaps that I consider as great opportunities to define new ways and document best practice. I am a big believer in standardised processes which works well as everyone is receptive of these ideas when promoted in the right way. When done properly, these have a massive impact on product quality as well which drives my mojo.
