More about this expert:

My educational background is Master of Science (Architecture), at University of Oulu. I received my doctoral degree (D.Sc. tech.) in 2012. Currently, I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of architecture, in the research group of Smart City and Cultural Transformation. My field of expertise covers areas of integrative and strategic land use planning, healthy urban planning, contextual analyses and understanding broadly human-environment interactions in cultural environments. I have 10 years of experience in teaching and running strategic land use planning projects with Finnish small and medium sized municipalities, as well as acting as an academic researcher in various multidisciplinary domestic and international research projects. Educated as an architect, I am also experienced in project management and coordination in the private sector. My current interests are concerning user and demand responsive development strategies in regional planning, resource wisdom, system integration and interconnectedness of built environment and positive health outcomes. I want to solve the challenges related to the development of communities outside the growing urban regions and innovate solutions that help individuals, communities, and the whole society to renew and manage resources wisely.
