Passion I coordinate research for industrial energy efficiency within VTT. My technical and scientific interests are in efficient energy use in the process industries and development of modelling, simulation and optimisation tools for analysis and design of industrial processes. How did I become me? Currently I coordinate research for industrial energy efficiency within VTT and act as program manager of national Efficient Energy Use – research program. I graduated from Helsinki University of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and hold a PhD from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in Process Integration. I joined VTT in 1999, and have held various research and managerial positions at VTT in the fields of modelling and simulation, energy efficiency and pulp and paper processes. The problems I solve My expertise is in industrial energy use, energy production processes as well as process simulation and optimisation. I have strong experience in management of expert organisations and research projects as well as networking for research collaboration and technology transfer to industry.
